Pylon was an American new wave/post-punk band from Athens, Georgia, active from 1979 to 1983, 1989 to 1991, and 2004 to 2009. The band consisted of vocalist Vanessa Briscoe Hay, guitarist Randall Bewley, bassist Michael Lachowski, and drummer Curtis Crowe. Their debut album, "Gyrate," was released in 1980, followed by "Chomp" in 1983. Pylon was known for their danceable sound, blending elements of new wave, post-punk, and alternative rock. Their music influenced the Athens music scene and the 1980s American pop underground. The band was renowned for their energetic live performances and minimalist approach to music.
