Racer X was an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1985. The group was known for their technical proficiency and fast guitar solos, particularly due to guitarist Paul Gilbert. Their debut album, "Street Lethal," was released in 1986, followed by "Second Heat" in 1987. After disbanding in 1989, members pursued other projects, with Gilbert joining Mr. Big and drummer Scott Travis joining Judas Priest. The band reunited in 1999, releasing "Technical Difficulties" and "Superheroes." Their final studio album, "Getting Heavier," was released in 2002.
