Rafał Blechacz is a Polish pianist born in 1985 in Nakło nad Notecią. He began studying piano at the age of five and later graduated from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. In 2005, he won the First Prize at the 15th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, also receiving all special prizes. His discography includes recordings of works by Chopin, Debussy, and Szymanowski. In 2014, he was awarded the Gilmore Artist Award.
