The Ramsey Lewis Trio was a jazz group formed in 1956 in Chicago, consisting of pianist Ramsey Lewis, bassist Eldee Young, and drummer Redd Holt. The trio gained prominence in 1965 with their hit "The 'In' Crowd," which won a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Performance by a Small Group. Their music blended jazz with elements of R&B and pop, leading to widespread popularity. After Young and Holt departed in 1966, Lewis continued with new members, including Maurice White, who later founded Earth, Wind & Fire.
