Red House Painters was an American alternative rock band formed in San Francisco in 1988. The group was led by singer and songwriter Mark Kozelek. Their debut album, "Down Colorful Hill," was released in 1992, followed by "Rollercoaster" and "Ocean Beach." Their music is known for introspective lyrics and melancholic melodies, often associated with the slowcore genre.
