Reginald John Lindsay was an Australian country singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Over his 50-year career, he wrote more than 500 songs and recorded over 65 albums and 250 singles. In 1968, he became the first Australian to perform at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry. His biggest hit was the 1971 song "Armstrong," which reached number 6 on the Australian charts. Lindsay won three Golden Guitar awards and was inducted into the Roll of Renown in 1984. His contributions to country music were recognized with the Order of Australia in 1989.
