Ric Cartey was an American rockabilly musician and songwriter, best known as the co-writer of the 1956 song "Young Love." Born on January 18, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia, he formed a duo with guitarist Charlie Broome called The Jiv-A-Tones, recording several singles including "Oooh-Eee" and "Young Love." The song "Young Love" became a hit when covered by Sonny James and Tab Hunter in 1957. Cartey later signed with RCA Victor and recorded under producer Chet Atkins. He passed away on August 5, 2009, in Palm Harbor, Florida. The products available from the artist Ric Cartey include CDs.
