Richard Laviolette was a Canadian singer-songwriter from Guelph, Ontario. Throughout his career, he released several albums, including "All of Your Raw Materials" (2010), "Taking the Long Way Home" (2017), and posthumously "All Wild Things Are Shy" (2024). His music blended elements of folk, indie rock, and alternative rock. Laviolette frequently collaborated with artists such as Bry Webb and Jessy Bell Smith. In 2023, he underwent medical assistance in dying due to Huntington's disease. His final album was released on the first anniversary of his death.
