Riga Project Choir is a Latvian ensemble specializing in the performance of contemporary choral music. Their album "Already Bloomed: Contemporary Latvian Women Composers" features works by six Latvian female composers: Gundega Smite, Ruta Paidere, Evija Skuke, Liva Bluma, Lauma Kazaka, and Irina Mihailovska. The majority of the repertoire resulted from a 2023 commissioning project, where each composer set an excerpt from the Old Testament's Song of Songs to music. This project highlights the significant contributions of female composers to Latvia's choral tradition.
