The Robert Cray Band is an American blues group led by guitarist and vocalist Robert Cray. Formed in the 1970s, the band gained recognition for its unique style blending blues, soul, and rock. Their breakthrough album, "Strong Persuader," released in 1986, won a Grammy Award and featured the hit "Smoking Gun." Other notable albums include "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" and "Midnight Stroll." In 2012, they released "Nothin but Love." Robert Cray was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2011.
