Robert Pete Williams was an American blues musician from Louisiana, known for his unique style and personal lyrics. Born in Zachary, Louisiana, he grew up in a sharecropping family. His music often reflected his experiences in prison, where he was discovered by ethnomusicologist Dr. Harry Oster. Notable albums include "Those Prison Blues" (1959), "Free Again" (1961), and "Louisiana Blues" (1966). Williams was known for his unconventional song structures and guitar tunings. His song "I've Grown So Ugly" was later covered by Captain Beefheart and The Black Keys. In 2014, he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame.
