Roky Erickson was an American musician and singer-songwriter, known as a founding member of the 13th Floor Elevators, pioneers of psychedelic rock in the 1960s. After leaving the band, he pursued a solo career, releasing albums such as "The Evil One" (1980) and "Don't Slander Me" (1986). His music often featured horror and sci-fi themes. In 2007, he performed with The Explosives at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, a performance captured on the album "Halloween II: Live 2007". Erickson passed away in 2019 in Austin, Texas.
