Ronald Mesquita is a Brazilian drummer known for his 1972 album "Bresil 72," featuring songs by Jorge Ben, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gilberto Gil, and Edu Lobo. He previously played with Luis Carlos Vinhas in the "Bossa Tres" ensemble and later formed his own group, "Ronie E A Central Do Brasil," after returning from the US in the early 1970s. Mesquita also contributed to Tenorio Jr.'s "Embalo" album. The track "Balanca Pema" from "Bresil 72" was popular in the 1990s jazz dance scene and was sampled by Madlib in "Medicine Show Number 2."
