Root is a Czech black metal band founded in 1987 by vocalist Jiří "Big Boss" Valter. Their third studio album, "The Temple in the Underworld," was released in December 1992, marking a transition from raw black metal to a more sophisticated sound. The album features tracks like "Casilda's Song" and "Aposiopesis." The lyrics to "Casilda's Song" are taken from an 1895 poem by Robert W. Chambers.
