The Royal Flemish Philharmonic, also known as deFilharmonie, was a Belgian symphony orchestra based in Antwerp, founded in 1956. Originally known as the Antwerp Philharmonic, it was renamed the Royal Flemish Philharmonic and in 2017 became the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra focused on performing music from various eras in a historically authentic manner. Notable recordings include "Franck, Callaerts, Jongen: Works for Organ and Orchestra" featuring organist Peter Van de Velde. The orchestra regularly performed in leading Belgian concert halls such as the Queen Elisabeth Hall and deSingel.
