Running Wild is a German heavy metal band formed in 1976 in Hamburg. Initially playing traditional heavy metal, they adopted a pirate theme with their 1987 album "Under Jolly Roger," pioneering the "pirate metal" genre. Notable albums include "Port Royal" (1988), "Death or Glory" (1989), and "Blazon Stone" (1991). The band disbanded in 2009 but reunited in 2011, continuing to release new albums such as "Resilient" (2013) and "Rapid Foray" (2016).
