Saint Etienne is a British alternative dance band formed in 1990 in London. The trio consists of Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley, and Pete Wiggs. Their 1991 debut album, "Foxbase Alpha," was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Notable tracks include "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" and "He's on the Phone." The 1998 album "Good Humor" was recorded in Sweden with producer Tore Johansson and features singles "Sylvie" and "The Bad Photographer." The band is known for blending indie pop, synth-pop, and alternative rock. Throughout their career, they have collaborated with various artists and contributed to several film soundtracks.
