Scot Ray Quintet is a jazz ensemble led by trombonist Scot Ray. Their 2003 album "Active Vapor Recovery" features avant-funk, extreme jazz, liquid Americana, and scronk blues. The quintet includes Nels Cline on electric guitar, Jeff Gauthier on electric violin, Steuart Liebig on bass guitar, and Alex Cline on drums. Scot Ray previously toured with the Brian Setzer Orchestra and has now carved out his own unique niche in the Los Angeles music scene.
