Scott McCarl was a member of the Raspberries, contributing to their 1974 album "Starting Over" by co-writing five tracks. After the band's dissolution, he pursued other careers and returned to songwriting sporadically. In 1998, he released his debut solo album "Play On," featuring original compositions and a cover of Gerry & The Pacemakers' "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying."
