Sergio Alonso is a Spanish pianist and professor born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He graduated with honors from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and earned a "Cum Laude" doctorate. From 1994 to June 2017, he served as the solo pianist for the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, collaborating with conductors such as Mstislav Rostropovich and Rafael Frübeck de Burgos. Between 2009 and 2015, he was the director of the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias. Alonso is known for his extensive repertoire encompassing both classical music and jazz, and has performed on international stages in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, China, Japan, Morocco, and Mexico.
