Shabaka is a British jazz musician known for his proficiency on the saxophone and flute. In 2024, he released his debut solo album, "Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace," recorded at Van Gelder Studio in New Jersey. The album features collaborations with artists such as Jason Moran, Esperanza Spalding, and Floating Points. On this album, Shabaka focuses on playing various types of flutes, including the shakuhachi and svirel, exploring genres like jazz and new age music. Prior to this solo project, he was a member of bands such as Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming.
