Shape of Despair is a Finnish doom metal project that originated in 1995 under the name Raven. In 1998, they changed their name to Shape of Despair and released their debut album "Shades of..." in 2000. Their music is characterized by slow tempos, heavy guitar riffs, and atmospheric keyboards, creating a melancholic and somber atmosphere. Notable albums include "Angels of Distress" (2001), "Illusion's Play" (2004), and "Monotony Fields" (2015). Shape of Despair is considered a significant representative of funeral doom metal.
