Skin Alley was a British progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by Thomas Crimble and Giles 'Alvin' Pope. The original lineup included Crimble on bass guitar and vocals, Pope on drums, Max Taylor on guitar, and Jeremy Sagar on lead vocals. Taylor and Sagar left in early 1969, replaced by Krzysztof Henryk Juszkiewicz on Hammond organ and Bob James on saxophone, flute, guitar, and vocals. The band released four studio albums: 'Skin Alley' (1970), 'To Pagham and Beyond' (1970), 'Two Quid Deal?' (1972), and 'Skintight' (1973). Their music blended elements of rock, jazz, folk, and blues. In 1972, they became the first non-American white band signed to Stax Records. The group disbanded in 1974.
