Smog is the musical project of American singer-songwriter Bill Callahan, who began recording in the late 1980s. His work is characterized by lo-fi sound and introspective lyrics. Notable albums include "Knock Knock" (1999), "Red Apple Falls" (1997), and "Dongs of Sevotion" (2000). In 2005, he released "A River Ain't Too Much to Love". Callahan has collaborated with artists such as Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Joanna Newsom. In 2007, he began releasing music under his own name.
