Sonseed was an American Catholic pop band formed in the late 1970s in Brooklyn, New York. Their sole album, "First Fruit," was released in 1981 with a limited run of 1,000 copies. The band disbanded in 1983 but gained renewed popularity in 2008 when their song "Jesus Is a Friend of Mine" went viral on YouTube. In 2023, "First Fruit" was reissued for Record Store Day.
