Steve Hobbs is an American vibraphonist and marimbist known for his work in the jazz genre. Over his more than forty-year career, he has released several albums, including "Spring Cycle" and "Vibes Straight Up". In 2018, he released "Tribute to Bobby", dedicated to his mentor and friend Bobby Hutcherson. This album features original compositions influenced by post-bop, Latin, funk, and calypso. Hobbs has collaborated with musicians such as Adam Kolker, Bill O'Connell, Peter Washington, and John Riley. His music is recognized for its creativity and energy, often utilizing the marimba and vibraphone as primary instruments.
