Stephen James Howe is an English guitarist best known as a member of the progressive rock band Yes, which he joined in 1970. Prior to that, he played in bands such as The Syndicats, Tomorrow, and Bodast. Howe contributed to Yes albums like "The Yes Album" (1971), "Fragile" (1971), and "Close to the Edge" (1972). Besides Yes, he was a member of bands including Asia, GTR, and Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe. He has released several solo albums, including "Beginnings" (1975) and "The Steve Howe Album" (1979). His musical style encompasses progressive rock, art rock, and jazz fusion. In 2017, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Yes.
