Steve Lacy was an American jazz saxophonist and composer, recognized as one of the most significant players of the soprano saxophone. In the 1950s, he emerged as a progressive dixieland musician and later delved into experimental jazz. His albums "Reflections" (1959) and "Evidence" (1962) feature interpretations of Thelonious Monk's compositions, whose music became a permanent part of Lacy's repertoire.
