Storm Corrosion is a musical project formed in 2010 as a collaboration between Mikael Åkerfeldt of the Swedish progressive metal band Opeth and Steven Wilson of the British progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. In 2012, they released their sole, self-titled album, characterized by ambient and experimental sounds distinct from their previous works. The album was well-received by critics and reached number 37 on the Billboard 200 chart. Despite fan expectations, no further projects under the name Storm Corrosion have been announced.
