The Sugarhill Gang is an American hip-hop group formed in Englewood, New Jersey, in 1979. The original members were Wonder Mike, Master Gee, and Big Bank Hank. Their debut single, "Rapper's Delight," became the first rap song to enter the Billboard Hot 100's top 40, reaching number 36 in January 1980. The group released albums such as "Sugarhill Gang" (1980) and "8th Wonder" (1981). After disbanding in 1985, they reunited in 1994 and continue to perform.
