Sugar Minott, born Lincoln Barrington Minott, was a Jamaican reggae singer, producer, and sound system operator. He began his career in 1969 as a member of The African Brothers. Later, he gained fame as a solo artist with albums like "Live Loving" and "Ghetto-ology". His hit "Good Thing Going" reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart in 1981. Minott is considered a pioneer of dancehall and was known for his work with young talents through his Black Roots label. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 54.
