Sukyeon Kim is a South Korean pianist born in 1988 in Iksan. She studied at Daejeon Arts School and later at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf under Georg Friedrich Schenk. During her studies, she received several awards, including first place at the Emánuel Moór competition in 2008 and first place at the Bechstein competition in Düsseldorf in 2009. In 2015, she released her debut album featuring works by Russian composer Nikolai Kapustin. Kim specializes in performing technically demanding pieces, with a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary works.
