Swing Out Sister is a British pop band formed in 1985 in Manchester. Originally composed of vocalist Corinne Drewery, keyboardist Andy Connell, and drummer Martin Jackson, their debut album "It's Better to Travel" (1987) reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and featured the hit "Breakout," which peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart and number six in the US. Other notable tracks include "Surrender" and "Twilight World." The band is known for their sophisticated pop sound, blending elements of jazz and synth-pop. After Jackson's departure, Drewery and Connell continued as a duo, releasing several more albums, including "Kaleidoscope World" (1989) and "Get in Touch with Yourself" (1992).
