T. Rex was a British rock band formed in London in 1967 under the leadership of singer and guitarist Marc Bolan. Originally known as Tyrannosaurus Rex, the band transitioned from acoustic folk rock to an electric sound, shortening their name to T. Rex in 1970. Between 1970 and 1973, they achieved significant success with hits like "Hot Love," "Get It On," "Telegram Sam," and "Metal Guru." Their 1971 album "Electric Warrior" became an icon of glam rock.
