Tabou Combo is a Haitian band founded in 1968 in Pétion-Ville. Known as the "ambassadors of konpa," their music blends Haitian meringue, rara, konpa, Brazilian music, soukous, and funk. In 1974, they achieved international success with the hit "New York City." Their 1989 album "Aux Antilles" topped European and Caribbean charts for six weeks.
