Taizé is an ecumenical monastic community based in Burgundy, France, founded in 1940 by Brother Roger Schütz. The community comprises over one hundred brothers from various Christian traditions and countries. Taizé's music emphasizes simple phrases, often from biblical psalms or liturgy, repeated and sometimes sung in canon. The album "Music of Unity and Peace" was recorded in May and July 2014 at the Church of Reconciliation in Taizé and released in March 2015 under the Deutsche Grammophon label.
