Takeo Ischi is a Japanese yodeler active in Germany. Born in Tokyo, he learned to play the zither and dulcimer during his mechanical engineering studies. Self-taught in yodeling using Franzl Lang's recordings, he later performed in Japan. During a stay in Switzerland, he sang at a Zurich beer hall, where Lang discovered him. Ischi moved to Germany, becoming known as the "Japanese yodeler." He released albums like "Der Jodelnde Japaner" and "Grüße Aus Den Bergen."
