Tarika Blue was a fusion and jazz-funk band formed in the mid-1970s in New York by keyboardist Phil Clendeninn. The group released two albums: "Tarika Blue" in 1976 and "The Blue Path" in 1977. Their track "Dreamflower" was later sampled by Erykah Badu in her song "Didn't Cha Know". Tarika Blue's music blended spiritual jazz with elements of pop, soul, and funk, with their sound influenced by artists like John Coltrane and McCoy Tyner. The band disbanded after releasing their second album, but their music remains influential in the jazz community.
