Tashi Wada is a composer and performer based in Los Angeles. He studied composition at CalArts with James Tenney and performed alongside his father, composer and artist Yoshi Wada, for many years. Wada has presented his music internationally and collaborated with various artists, including Charles Curtis, Simone Forti, and Julia Holter. He founded and runs the label Saltern. His latest album, "Nue," was released by RVNG Intl. In 2024, he released "What Is Not Strange?," representing his most expansive and impassioned music to date. The album was written and recorded during a period encompassing the death of his father and the birth of his daughter, exploring broad themes such as existence, mortality, and finding one's place in the world through new forms of ecstatic, song-based expression.
