The Boswell Sisters were an American vocal trio from New Orleans, active in the 1930s. The group consisted of sisters Martha, Connie, and Helvetia "Vet" Boswell. They were known for their intricate harmonies and rhythmic experimentation, influencing artists such as Ella Fitzgerald and The Andrews Sisters. Their most notable recordings include "When I Take My Sugar to Tea," "Dinah," and "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter." They collaborated with musicians like the Dorsey Brothers and Benny Goodman. After the group's dissolution in 1936, Connie continued a solo career in radio, film, and television.
