The Breeders are an American alternative rock band from Dayton, Ohio, consisting of Kim Deal (vocals, guitar), her sister Kelley Deal (guitar, vocals), Josephine Wiggs (bass guitar, vocals), and Jim Macpherson (drums, vocals). Formed in 1989 as a side project by Kim Deal of Pixies and Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses, the band released their second album, "Last Splash," in 1993, featuring the hit "Cannonball," which achieved platinum status in the US. In 2018, they released "All Nerve" with the original lineup. In 2023, they celebrated the 30th anniversary of "Last Splash" with a special edition and tour.
