The Cars were an American rock band formed in 1976 in Boston. The original lineup consisted of Ric Ocasek (vocals, guitar), Benjamin Orr (vocals, bass guitar), Elliot Easton (guitar), Greg Hawkes (keyboards), and David Robinson (drums). Their 1978 debut album, "The Cars," featured hits like "Just What I Needed" and "My Best Friend's Girl." Subsequent albums "Candy-O" (1979) and "Heartbeat City" (1984) solidified their position in the new wave movement. The band disbanded in 1988 but reunited in 2010, releasing "Move Like This" in 2011.
