The Cash Box Kings is an American blues band from Chicago, Illinois, specializing in Chicago blues from the 1940s and 1950s and Delta blues from the 1920s and 1930s. The group is led by vocalist and songwriter Oscar "Mr. 43rd Street" Wilson and harmonica player and vocalist Joe Nosek. Their 2013 album "Black Toppin'" won the Blues Blast Music Award for Traditional Blues Album of the Year. In 2017, they released "Royal Mint," which was named among the Top Ten Blues Albums of the Year by MOJO magazine. In 2019, they released "Hail to the Kings!" The band has received 17 Blues Music Award nominations, including Album of the Year, Best Traditional Album, and Band of the Year. In 2023, they were honored as Blues Band of the Year at the Blues Blast Music Awards. Their latest album, "Oscar's Motel," was the most played blues record worldwide in 2023.
