The Chameleons are an English rock band formed in 1981 in Middleton, Greater Manchester. The original lineup consisted of Mark Burgess (vocals, bass guitar), Reg Smithies (guitar), Dave Fielding (guitar), and John Lever (drums). Their debut album, "Script of the Bridge," was released in 1983, followed by "What Does Anything Mean? Basically" (1985) and "Strange Times" (1986). The band is known for their atmospheric sound and is considered one of the most underrated Manchester bands of the 1980s. After disbanding in 1987, they reunited in 2000 and again in 2021. In 2024, they released the EP "Where Are You?" and plan to release the album "Arctic Moon" in September 2025. The products available from the artist The Chameleons include CDs.
