The Drifters are an American vocal group formed in 1953 in New York City. Initially established as a backing group for singer Clyde McPhatter, they are renowned for hits like "There Goes My Baby" (1959), "Save the Last Dance for Me" (1960), and "Under the Boardwalk" (1964). Their music blends elements of R&B, doo-wop, and soul. Throughout their career, the group underwent numerous personnel changes, with notable members including Ben E. King and Johnny Moore.
