The Early Years is a British rock band from Hackney, London, consisting of David Malkinson, Roger Mackin, Brendan Kersey, Philip Raines, and Alexander Theakston. Formed in 2004, the band is known for their sound influenced by krautrock, alternative rock, and electronic music. Their debut album, "The Early Years," was released in 2006 under the Beggars Banquet label. After a hiatus, they returned in 2011 with a new single and continued their work, leading to the release of their second album, "II," in 2016 under the Sonic Cathedral label.
