The Essex Green is an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, consisting of Jeff Baron, Sasha Bell, and Chris Ziter. Formed in 1997, the band is known for its sound inspired by 1960s and 1970s pop and folk music. Their debut album, "Everything Is Green," was released in 1999 under Kindercore Records. They subsequently released "The Long Goodbye" (2003), "Cannibal Sea" (2006), and "Hardly Electronic" (2018), all under Merge Records. The band is part of the Elephant Six Collective, and their music reflects influences from bands like The Left Banke and Fairport Convention.
