The Get Up Kids is an American emo band from Kansas City, formed in 1995. They are considered pioneers of the second wave of emo music. Their second album, "Something to Write Home About," is regarded as a seminal work in the genre. The band has influenced many other groups, such as Fall Out Boy and Taking Back Sunday. Throughout their career, they have collaborated with bands like Green Day and Weezer and have embarked on international tours.
