The Godfathers are an English rock band from London, known for their strong influences from R&B and punk. Formed in 1985 by brothers Peter and Chris Coyne after the dissolution of The Sid Presley Experience, they released their debut album "Hit by Hit" in 1986, which compiled tracks from their independent singles. In 1988, they released "Birth, School, Work, Death", with the title track reaching the U.S. Billboard Top 40. Subsequent albums include "More Songs About Love and Hate" (1989) and "Unreal World" (1991). After several lineup changes and hiatuses, the band continues to create and perform.
