The Hard Quartet is an American indie rock supergroup formed in May 2023. The members are Stephen Malkmus, Matt Sweeney, Jim White, and Emmett Kelly. Malkmus is known as the frontman of Pavement, Sweeney from Chavez, White from Dirty Three, and Kelly from The Cairo Gang. Their debut album, "The Hard Quartet," was released on October 4, 2024, under Matador Records. The album includes singles "Earth Hater" and "Rio's Song."
